Embossing
Raised detail that invites touch
Embossing creates a three-dimensional lift in the paper or board, adding depth, tactility and a premium physical cue that can’t be replicated by ink alone. From subtle brand marks to sculpted artwork, it elevates print into something people instinctively want to run their fingers across.

Why Embossing matters
- Instant luxury – A raised detail gives weight, authority and craftsmanship to any piece.
- Tactile brand recognition – Logos and titles become physically memorable, not just visual.
- Ink required – Works beautifully on uncoated, coloured and textured stocks.
- Pairs perfectly with foil – "Foil + emboss" gives sparkle and dimension.
Creative Embossing
- Blind Emboss - Purely tactile, no ink, perfect for minimalist premium work.
- Registered Emboss - Aligned precisely to printed artwork for added dimensional impact.
- Foil & Emboss - Foil applied first, then lifted, crisp, luxurious and high-contrast.
- Multi-Level / Sculpted Emboss - Hand-crafted depth with multiple planes, ideal for illustrative or ornate work.
- Micro-Emboss - Fine textures for subtle patterning, grip or security elements.
What this unlocks for your project

- Certificates and presentation pieces with gravitas.
Tech specs at a glance
- Best results - 250gsm+ (but we can emboss lighter stocks with careful pressure control).
- Sequence - Embossing is typically last in the finishing sequence, except when paired with foil.
- Detail - Hairline elements may not translate, we test artwork to guarantee crispness.
- Depth - Heavier boards allow deeper sculpting.
Design tips - faster approvals, smarter results
- Avoid small reversed-out type (it loses strength when raised).
- Choose uncoated or lightly textured papers for the most dramatic shadows.
- Leave 3 to 5 mm tolerance around the embossed area for clean pressure distribution.
Sustainability
Embossing contains no inks, no foils, and adds no additional materials — making it naturally aligned with recyclable and fibre-based packaging goals.
